Star Party @ Red Rock!

Uncategorized | | February 28, 2007 at 10:35

This is not the kind of Star Party we normally equate with Las Vegas. This is all about celestial star-gazing and the public is invited free of charge. As Off the Strip as you can get, the Las Vegas Astronomical Society holds its Public Star Party at the Red Rock BLM Visitor Center from 6pm-10pm. The first part of the program is a presentation “Steering By the Stars: The Saga of Mankind’s quest to use the Heavens to Find its place on Earth.” Weather permitting, outdoor telescope viewing follows. Reservations are not required. Please be advised that the entrance gates to the Visitor Center close at 6:30 pm. Take W. Charleston to Red Rock and follow the signs.
