If you love Latin music, there are two big events coming up in March, both sponsored by the Performing Arts Division of the City of Las Vegas.

Mariachi Plata de Las Vegas, purported to be Las Vegas’ favorite mariachi band will perform at the East Las Vegas Community Center Sat Mar 24 @ 7pm. This local group is made up of Clark Co School District educators who have vowed to keep the mariachi tradtion alive. The tickets are $10, free for children under 5. Sat Mar 31 @ 8pm is the Latin Percussion Ensemble Salsa Dance Concert: Rae Arroyo Tribute. Rick Arroyo pays tribute to his late KUNV DJ-mother’s love for Latin jazz and salsa. Johnny “Dandy” Rodriguez, 30 years with the Tito Puenta Orchestra, will make a guest appearance with Arroyo’s ten-piece band. Come join the salsa dance workshop at 7pm. Tickets $10.
