5 week “Wines of France” class

bordeauxeng.jpgThe Wines of France Part I is a course offered by Norma Poole, Certified Sommelier, Court of Master Sommeliers and Wine Education & Consulting Services.

This five week course will cover wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy including their history. Outside reading is highly recommended: The Oxford Companion to Wines, Jancis Robinson and The World Atlas of Wines, Hugh Johnson and Robinson. The class is billed as a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of French wine plus learn how to read and pronounce a French wine label – in preparation for your next trip to France! Norma is already planning one for Spring ’08.

The class will begin on Thurs May 24, 6p-8:30p and run thru June 28 (no class Jun 7). Cost is $175/pp. Supplies: Students will be assigned wines to bring for tastings. Average cost is $25-50 per bottle (1-2 bottles total.) Bring a three-ring binder and tasting glasses (3 white and 3 red).
