Facebook, Twitter and Shift Happens You-tube
Baby Boomer | Sandra | May 22, 2009 at 10:37Are you are like me, not so young anymore, but struggling hard not to be irrelevant? Does your heart race and brain fog when faced with conquering new technologies and accepting invitations to join Hi5, Linked In, Plaxo, Facebook etc? And now there is the fastest growing of all – “Twitter.”
To Tweet or not to Tweet? That is the question. Are you trying to decide? Do you really want the world to know what you are doing via Facebook? What’s wrong with old-fashioned email? Are you overwhelmed? Do you fell too old to keep up (or catch up)?
Do you ask yourself – “How is this going to improve my life?” Is this worth the TIME? Don’t I already have email, text messaging, cell phone and a blog? How much technology do I NEED anyway?
Do you feel like the Universe is speeding away from you? You’re not alone. Take 5 minutes out and watch this You-Tube called “Shift Happens” developed after the 2008 Rome conference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpEnFwiqdx8.
When you finish, note it doesn’t even mention Twitter which has grown exponentially since the 2008 meeting in Rome happened. Before you ask, “what meeting” – that part is less clear. My research shows there were many world meetings in Rome in 2008. I have posed the question to the U-Tube site. But whatever the meeting, the info in the U-Tube doesn’t set off any alarms on my “BS” detector.

finally have a post
Where is the coverage of Dolphin Bay?? As to all the new technology – I am barely hanging on and am all a twitter!!! (^_^) I know corny!!!
Got it. And wouldn’t you know that no one over the age of 50 even noticed the mistake!
“YouTube” not “U-Tube” you fogies!
I saw something like, “Did You Know?” at the Gold Show last November in San Francisco. It gives validity to the idea that we received at the UFO Conference in Laughlin this year that by 2012 so much information will be coming at us that our mind/brain cannot process it in the same way. The result being that humanity shifts to intuition. We will see.
I am learning to grow vegetables. Since I have a small yard, I am growing in containers and using vertical planting. It appears that I will be able to grow most veggies for me and my wife. I am also trading them for fish, pork, eggs and goat milk. Growing, preparing and eating veggies is very satisfying and is a good balance to the exponential growth in technology.
I will try twitter
Seems that many have already seen it, but it is still elicits response. Am also asking “What 2008 Rome meeting?”
The point is that the world is speeding at a rate that is outpacing everyone, not just the old and technology-challenged.
Unexpected things indeed – that’s why I mentioned Twitter NOT being mentioned even in something generated one year ago. Every new template for wordpress has a tweet function. Anyone under the age of 40 has twitter handle on their business card.
Thanks…someone sent me this UTube when it came out…I watched it. Thought it was interesting. Then asked myself: where/how were those stats developed? And then asked what exactly is the point?
Then I also reminded myself that in my garage–until I sold it at auction– I had a comprehension series of conference papers written by top engineers in the field about the manned space colony we’d definitely have fully established and operational on Mars by 2008–written in the 1960s.
That is to say, the best laid plans and projections of mice (digital and otherwise) and men don’t always proceed as projected….All sorts of unexpected things get in the way. And are, even as we speak.
