Save the Whales Again!

A Whale of a Tale.

To save Earth from an alien probe, Kirk and his crew go back in time to retrieve the only beings who can communicate with it, humpback whales. Remember that great Star Trek IV movie from 1986? Maybe we need some intervention in 2010 cause it seems like even the Obama people don’t get it. How can that be possible?  I’m sure he has some good reasons for his position, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to say upfront that I can’t see how they could ever be good enough.  Start killing whales legally just to appease the three countries that have continued whaling illegally.  With that kind of logic, we should have no trouble passing legal marijuana.

Shame on you Obama

Sarah Christie did a good job of laying out the facts. Supervisor Bruce Gibson acquitted himself well in front of this supportive audience of environmentalists and sea lovers.  My bet is that every person there voted for both Gibson and Obama.  It’s really tough when your guy lets you down. Now we know what it must be like for Bush supporters (philosophically, anyway) who had to deal with reality.

Is it possible to stop this madness?  It certainly is difficult not to be discouraged.  Enjoy it while we have it, folks, cause it sure seems like the human race is fast outstripping our resources.  Our survival is going to depend on our ability to adapt to the unbrave new world we are creating. It looks more and more like it’s too late to turn the Titanic away from the iceberg.  We might have time to build more lifeboats if we hurry.
