Google Exec released in Cairo

Don’t think because you have an important position with an international company in Egypt that you are safe from the secret police. The head of Google marketing for the Middle East has just been released in Cairo after being arrested in Tahrir Square. Wael Gohnim has been missing for more than two weeks. He is considered one of the behind-the-scenes leaders of the Facebook revolt in Egypt and designed Al Baradei’s website. Al Baradei, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate,  is considered one of the leaders of the opposition (pro-democracy and anti-Mubarak).

Al Jazeera reports that Wael Gohnim of Google is headed back to Tahrir or Liberation Square. That’s what I call guts and commitment.
