Mubarak rumored to step down within hoursA Point of View, Egypt, Politics | Sandra | February 10, 2011 at 09:14
It seems the pressure is too great. The labor unions have joined in. The world press is against him. The number of protesters swells every day. More and more are being killed and arrested– and, according to Al Jazeera, the army is torturing prisoners.
Word is the Army has already stopped Mubarak from handing over power to Suleiman, his VP. The head of Egypt’s ruling political party (National Democratic Party – NDP) says Mubarak will step down tonight. But Suleiman is Mubarak’s right hand man and was head of dreaded Intelligence. Will that be good enough for the protesters?
Tweeters are saying the road to the airport is cut off – but by whom? Protesters or Army?
