Dixieland Jazz in the Afternoon

Incongruous at it might seem, the Cortez Room at the Golden Nugget is pretty lively on a weekday afternoon with the sounds of the Royal Dixie Jazz Band playing Dixieland classics such as Down by the Riverside, South Rampart Street Parade, and Bugle Call Rag. The trombone, trumpet, clarinet, sometimes saxophone, keys and drums swing with the old favorites; Tommy E was especially impressive with a rapid-fire Holiday for Trumpets. The Dixie Jazz Band starts at 1:00 pm Mon-Fri. Golden Nugget Casino W. Flamingo and Valley View.

The Royal Dixie Jazz Band will be performing at the 19th Annual Mammoth Jazz Jubilee July 11-15 and the Ocean Shore Jazz Festival in Washington State Nov 2-4.
