Tropicana Cinemas, the former venue for the Screening Series has closed.???? The new venue is the Neonopolis Theatres, corner of Fremont & 4th St Downtown Las Vegas. The Art House Screening Series is the brainchild of the CineVegas Film Festival, featuring selected documentaries and foreign features exhibited in March and April. They are performing the outstanding community service of screening “independent, underground, foreign and documentary films that otherwise wouldn’t be shown in Las Vegas.” Kudos and thank you!

thru March 15. God Grew Tired of Us, another perspective on the Lost Boys of Sudan and winner of the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. Also playing is Family Law, a Spanish-language film about father and son lawyers.

Mar 16-22. Situation and Sweet Land to be scheduled for later date.

Mar 23-29. Colour Me Kubrick, true story of a Stanley Kubrick imposter, starring John Malkovich. Also My Country, My Country, nominated for an Academy Award, is an inside look into the life of an Iraqi doctor and politicican in the world of US occupation and nascent Iraqi politics.
