Seaside Wine Tasting
Travel | Sandra | November 2, 2009 at 18:20It doesn’t get better than this. Beautiful blue skies reflected onto calm blue Pacific, the cliff’s edge just yards away with pelicans cruising the coast – and glasses of smooth merlot, tangy pinot noir and crisp Chardonnay from local San Luis Obispo wineries.
All this and tasty little slices of gourmet pizza are served up with live acoustic guitar strumming (ever so gently) on the patio of Dolphin Bay’s Lido Restaurant in scenic and serene Shell Beach CA.
Eight bucks gets you all these pleasures every Tuesday starting at 5:30. No tourists here – you need to be a local to know about this quasi-private party. You can even catch the mayor of Pismo Beach enjoying what her constituents have to offer. Tough job, but someone’s gotta do it. (Mayor Maryann Reiss is seated on right above.)
There’s valet parking and ample self-parking. Exit 101 at Spyglass and go north a short block on Shell Beach Road. Driveway entrance on ocean side.
