Live ammunition is being used on the streets of Manama, Bahrain and in several cities in Libya, with the most violent in Benghazi. In Bahrain, peaceful demonstrators are being shot with a special buckshot. The crowd has even been attacked by military helicopters according to a phone interview from Bahrain with Mohammed Al Maskati of the Bahrain youth movement. A doctor from the Salmaniya Medical Complex says bullet wounds show entry from above.

A funeral march in Libya was described by an eye witness as a massacre with many many dead. He claims that French-speaking black Africans are being brought in to fire upon Libyans.

Ambulances are not being allowed into the area in Manama where protesters lie wounded from gunfire and other injuries. The ET staff was pulled from their ambulances by security police and not allowed to continue. Doctors are begging the Minister of Health to stand up for them.

A frantic call from an engineer in Libya to Al Jazeera is begging for outside intervention, but since when has Ghaddafi paid heed to international pressure? The engineer asked where is Obama? Do people really believe that the United States controls the world? How much easier things would be if we did.
