Watch English interview by CNN Turk with Saif al-Islam

A Point of View, Libya, Middle East & North Africa, Politics | | February 25, 2011 at 09:05

This interview by Turkish CNN journalist Cuneyt Ozdemir with Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam is a must see. It is in English, filmed in front of huge map of Libya. Saif is animated and desperate to be believed.

“Most of Libya is calm. All of the south is calm. All of the central coast is calm. Only two small areas of combat in the west.  Benghazi is in chaos. Two emirates already set up in eastern Libya. They have their own flags.”

“Friends are begging me to come to Benghazi to save them.”  That part I’ll believe. I’d want to be saved too, if I were friends with him.

“All this is due to Al Jazeera. They have their own agenda. They are settling accounts. They are liars.”

“State-owned TV is very bad. They play music all day long. They are strong channels; they are rich; they are powerful. They are influencing the people.” State TV? His brother owns most of the telecommunications in the country. I haven’t seen anything on LBJC that isn’t pro-Gadafi.

“We will never let our people walk alone in this dark time. We are one country.”

I hope we will get out of this crisis, stronger. We will be one nation. We will not allow terrorists to control this country. Never.”

“Plan A is to live and die in Libya. Plan B is to live and die in Libya. Plan C is to live and die in Libya.”

Please watch and listen for yourself. There are 3 YouTubes: the 1st is 9+minutes, 2nd 6 minutes, the 3rd almost 2 minutes long.–no-other-scenario.aspx
