Recommend: CBC’s Fifth Estate “Gaddafi Dying Days” documentary

If you’re looking for a good recap of the reign of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, I recommend CBC’s (Canadian Broadcasting) Fifth Estate program titled “Colonel Gadhafi (Gaddafi) Dying Days: A dictator’s final fight against his own demise.”

With footage from the first days of his coup against King Idriss right through nowtime, CBC’s Fifth Estate tells an amazing, coherent story of a man who went to the edge and came back – only to go the edge again. A master of manipulation while still a madman, Gaddafi plays all his cards shrewdly.

If the CBC is to be believed, the CIA itself helped Gaddafi put down a couple of coups over the years. I really hated to hear that, but why should I be surprised?

A must see if you want to have an overview of Gaddafi’s history with Libya, with the Arab world and with the West. I just hope CBC’s title, “Gadhafi’s Dying Days” is prescient. The death of his regime can’t come a minute too soon.
